Toronto based Indie/Alternative Rock band, Newcomer, was formed by frontman Matias Gutierrez, with lead guitarist Jordasche D'mello, rhythm guitarist Lucas Ratigan, bassist Joshua Sofian, and drummer Martin Camara. They are signed to Coin Records Inc.

Frontman, Matias Gutierrez, composed and recorded tracks with high school classmate and guitar player, Jordasche D'mello. 
In the Fall of 2016, Gutierrez enrolled at the University of Toronto, where he met bass player Joshua Sofian, and guitar player Lucas Ratigan at a club called Music Clubs Initiative. Gutierrez, D'mello, and Sofian composed and recorded tracks specializing in Indie/Alternative Rock.
In July 2017, Sofian brought in drummer, Martin Camara to the band. The band was called Newcomer. Shortly after recruiting Camara, D'mello had to go back to Dubai and take a year off.
In September 2017, Ratigan joins the band as a guitar player, and Newcomer's first single 'Zeitgeist' was released. Shortly after the release, the band was spotted by label CEO, Chelsea Charles, and signed to Coin Records Inc.
